The Township Cannabis Incubator
The Township Cannabis Incubator (TCI) was established in 2023 and funded by the Department of Small Business Development through Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA).
The strategic intent of the incubator is to provide business development support to Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) with emphasis on medicinal cannabis based products, cosmetics and biomaterials.
The TCI has also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Walter Sisulu University (WSU) as a strategic intent to harness and leverage on the existing university research infrastructure with the intent to robustly translate research outputs into innovative commercial products, processes and services and subsequently ensure sustainability and growth of the incubated enterprises.
