Dr Ncebakazi Galada

Chief Executive officer

Dr. Ncebakazi Galada is a transformational leader with an interest in the translation of research and innovation outputs into commercializable assets and business development. For the past decade she has served in various portfolios within the public service and academia. These include serving at the National Advisory Council on Innovation in areas such as innovation for development, strengthening skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as well as gender mainstreaming in STEM based initiatives. She has also served within the Industry and Environment Directorate where she was part of the team responsible for the implementation of the Bio-economy Strategy.

As a former technology transfer specialist, she has expertise in technology transfer, intellectual property identification, protection, and commercialization thereof. She has for the past few years been actively involved in research and innovation management support, business development, consultation and mentoring services for start-up companies.

Meet Our Board Members

Dr. Thobekani Lose (Board Chairperson)

(Ph.D in Business, M.Tech in Business Administration)

Dr Thobekani Lose is one of the founding Directors of the Township Cannabis Incubator. At present Dr. Lose is the Unit Head for Centre for Entrepreneurship at Nelson Mandela University and a senior researcher. Dr. Lose’s academic qualifications span the field of Business Management – a PhD and an MBA. Dr. Lose has over 13 years of work experience within the entrepreneurial ecosystem mentored more than 1254 small businesses. As an enthusiastic academic, he published over 46 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals, has fund raised over 100 million. He delivered over 14 entrepreneurial talks international conferences, including the USA, UK and Netherlands. Dr Lose serves in several boards in South Africa.

Ms Ziyanda Vitshima-Tsengwa

CA(SA)

Ms Vitshima-Tsengwa is a Chartered Accountant who holds a Bcom Hons degree from Nelson Mandela University as well as a certificate in leadership development from the University of Pretoria. She is skilled in strategic business planning and is currently a lead audit engagement manager with expertise and experience in the fields of financial management, risk management and auditing. She has experience both in the private and public sector with specialism in the financial services industry.

Mr Ngcebo Mabizela

(LLB UCT)

Mr Mabizela is currently the Retail Manager for V&A Waterfront in Cape Town which is a mixed used property development and one of the most visited precincts in Africa. He has retail, leasing, and property management experience.
Prior to this Mr Mabizela was the Corporate Legal Officer and Company Secretary for V&A Waterfront. He has extensive Corporate Governance, Corporate Law, Tax, Construction Law and Commercial Law experience that expands over many sectors including but not limited to Real Estate, Mining, Construction and Renewable Energy.
Mr Mabizela completed his articles of clerkship to be admitted as an attorney at Bowman Gilfillan which is now Bowmans in Sandton and holds an LLB from the University of Cape Town and is currently completing a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the same institution specialising in Commercial Law and Corporate Governance.
He is a member of the Institute of Directors South Africa and a Board Member of the Western Cape Chapter of the South African Council of Shopping Centres South Africa. He also serves in the Legal Committee of the South African Property Owners Association.

Dr Vuyolwethu Nkohla

PhD Economics

Dr Nkohla has a PhD in Economics from the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape. Her research interests include Local Economic Development, Econometrics, Economics of Education, Efficiency, and Productivity. She completed an MPhil in Development Finance from Stellenbosch Business School (USB), Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Economics from the USB and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, Finance and Statistics from the University of Cape Town.
Nkohla is a seasoned economic policy practitioner with an illustrious career in public service, having worked as an Economic Statistician for a government-linked think tank, Eastern Cape Socio Economic Consultative Council, a local economic development specialist at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in the Eastern Cape and currently working as the Director: Rural Economic Development at OR Tambo District Municipality
